What does “Thoughtfully developed” mean?

When you drive past an Anchor Acquisitions development, you’ll notice our sign in the yard. At the top, above our logo, it says “Thoughtfully developed by…”

Initially, “Thoughtfully developed” meant that we wanted to build homes and buildings which were attractive, which made sense in terms of size, price and aesthetic for the area, and would be functional and enjoyable to the owners who were served by them.

Rather than aiming to squeeze every dime we could from every project, we wanted to build what made the most sense for the area and the community, and be proud of what we chose to build.

But it has come to mean more than that.

Years ago, I sat in a roomful of men I respect and heard a man talk to us about generosity, about giving, and about stewardship. He said something that stuck with me: “Anything that we have been given is not for our own edification, but for the edification of the world around us.”

Therefore, when we have the opportunity and privilege to do what we love to do—to build homes and create opportunities in local real estate development—we want any abundance we experience to be for the benefit of the community in which we find ourselves.

From every deal that we do, we give 10% of our net profits to the local schools, or to a carefully selected local charity with ties directly to the area in which we are building.

Scroll down to see a list of organizations that we have given to in the past, and for those who partner with us in the future, you can know that your investment is doing more than simply building buildings and making money: it is an investment into the future of the communities in which we are enjoying the privilege of doing business.

So far, in total, Anchor Acquisitions has given over $60,000 and we are just getting started!
